Lewisham Council is responsible for reviewing the data collected from this engagement and will use this to shape any future proposals. This is a collaborative process and the engagement team is working in conjunction with officers from the Council’s Transport, Highways, Business and Markets teams, in addition to external consultants, to deliver this engagement process.

public works

public works is a not-for-profit critical design practice set up in 2004 working across architecture, art and performance. They have extensive experience running community engagement programmes for large projects and are working with the Council, in conjunction with Architecture 00, to deliver the engagement process for the Lewisham Library, Culture and Community Hub.

Project Centre

Project Centre is a design, engineering and landscape architecture consultancy, passionate about creating places that are attractive, innovative, sustainable and safe. The Design Team at Project Centre are designing Lewisham High Street and Market, and the Engagement Team are supporting with the consultation activities.

Funded by UK Government

Levelling Up Fund

This project is partly funded by the UK Government’s Levelling up fund which is a programme of investment in infrastructure that improves everyday life across the UK, including regenerating town centres and high streets, upgrading local transport, and investing in cultural and heritage assets. Councils bid for money and then are selected and allocated funds. Lewisham Council was successful in its bid in early 2023.
